Get ready for your future with College Orchard.
Hello, I’m Kelly Lie, your coach here at College Orchard. I bring exceptional interpersonal skills and organization to the process, and always with a sense of humor. I believe in creating a positive and uplifting coaching relationship that motivates my advisees to do their best while having fun along the way. I love the atmosphere of a college campus and often make time to visit and learn more about colleges & universities while on vacation.
I am a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, and attended the University of Pittsburgh for my Master’s degree in Education (M.Ed.) with a focus on Higher Education Administration.
I am a former director of admissions, have also held roles in student development, student affairs, residence life, and have been an advisor to sororities and fraternities. I have a breadth of understanding when it comes to various school sizes and experiences in higher education having worked at a small graduate school program (Kent State’s College of Podiatric Medicine), a mid-size institution (Carnegie Mellon), and a large public university (UC, Berkeley). In all situations, I consider my student connections a valuable part of my resume.
I believe my background gives me a unique perspective with each student. My attention, especially with details and organization, is at the forefront of what I do.
Based in Seattle, I can meet locally in person, or across regions and time zones with virtual meet ups.
I am pleased to share I have completed the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s certificate program in postsecondary school counseling.
